Please make sure that you have granted SmartWOD Timer all reading and writing rights in Apple Health both in your iPhone AND in your watch. Only then the SmartWOD timer will handled by Apple as an active workout.

Here's how to check your permissions on your Watch:

  • Go to Settings in your Apple Watch
  • Tap General
  • Scroll down and tap Health
  • Tap Apps
  • Find SmartWOD Timer and tap it
  • Turn On All

Here's how to check your permissions on your iPhone:

  • Go to Settings in your iPhone
  • Scroll down and tap Health
  • Tap Data Access & Devices
  • Tap SmartWOD Timer
  • Make sure that all buttons are turned on

-----------

If the timer randomly switches back to Apple Fitness workout, even with all the permissions granted:

The Watch prioritises the workout which had the last "action", so if there are notifications coming in from Apple (e.g. "move ring closed"), the Apple Fitness app will be prioritised again. To avoid that, please try to press pause and then resume in your SmartWOD workout so that the timer would be in the foreground again. If you have problems with this, check out the page: How can I pause the workout?

-----------

For the best experience, please stop the Apple Watch fitness workout before you start the SmartWOD Timer. Don't worry, the SmartWOD workout will be tracked the same way like the Apple fitness workout: You will see your heart rate, burned calories and a workout summary in Apple fitness app on iPhone. If you have problems with any of this, please check out the following page: Why is my workout not tracked in the Apple fitness app?
